The idea came to mind as I was reading the book "Breakfast Of Champions by Kurt Vonegut" for an english class followed by the film "Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy." They both have similar yet very different themes, I picked up on The Modern Day Obsession of Happiness after an open discussion I had with other students. I took this away and came up with a concept of how we feel boxed in Societal Expectations, suffocation. We loose our identity and seem to be on pilot mode, well to me personally. Find it hard to be independent and lack inspiration, as if Im looking at myself in the mirror blank no emotion then disappearing into the thought. But this is only a train of thought, its a phase we all experience but coming away from it is daunting but relaxing as well.
“The things other people have put into my head, at any rate, do not fit together nicely, are often useless and ugly, are out of proportion with one another, are out of proportion with life as it really is outside my head.”
― Kurt Vonnegut, Breakfast of Champions
